Today, I will discuss my experience writing a post using Decentr's dHub. If you are a writer and publisher like me, you might want to try to use this new feature by the Decentr Browser. But before I guide you with the process, let us take a quick look on what Decentr is.
What is Decentr?
Decentr is a web browser that lets its users actually own the date they provide. On Decentr, users own their personal data and it is securely stored on each user's DecID. All records of users' online activity can only be accessed by individual users, not third parties. User data is 100% decentralised and is secured in a blockchain using SHA-256 encryption. How to Create a Decentr Wallet Address
Now that we briefly described what Decentr is all about, let us start on how you can create a post using Decentr. The first step you must do is to create a Decentr Wallet Address.
Step 1: Create a New Decentr Account. You must create a new user account in order to start. You can use my referral link if you want. You will get $DEC tokens in return if you finish the whole process. Register Here
Step 2: Write Provided Seed Phrase. Once you created a new user, you will be provided with a seed phrase. Make sure to write it down and keep it somewhere safe as you will use this to recover your account in the future.
Step 3: Download Decentr Browser. After writing your seed phrase, you will be asked to download the Decentr Browser on your device.
Step 4: Verify Email Address. You will be also asked with your email address. Make sure that you use an active one because a verification code will be sent on the email you gave.
Step 5: Import Seed Phrase. After downloading the browser, you will be asked to either create a new user or import a seed phrase. Since you already created one before opening the browser, all you have to do is to import the seed phrase you wrote down.
Step 6: Create Your Profile. After importing your seed phrase, you will be asked to import your name, avatar and other details.
Step 7: Create Password. After completing your profile, you will be also asked to create a password. You will use this password in order to access your browser so make sure to keep it safe. It will only ask for a password if you didn't open the Decentr browser for 48 hours.
Start Writing Your First dHub Post.
You are now set to create your first post in Decentr's dHub. Once you finish the process, you will see a similar interface as the picture below. This shows the post from other users. The posts are organized according to topics. If you don't see this interface, just click the blue hexagon on the menu tab of the browser and click "dHub".
On the top-right corner near your username, you can see the option "New Post". Click on it to create a post.

Once you click that, you will be brought to the interface similar below. Here you can choose what topic you want to classify your post. You will also be asked for the title and the contents as well. You can also place a cover photo for your post to make it more attractive to see.

For my first post, I used the topic "The Reason Why Greenland is Larger than Australia". As you can see, I already filled up the title, cover photo and placed the contents as well.
You can place up to 5 photos on your post. Unfortunately, placing hypelinks and text formatting is not yet possible as of the moment. Once you are satisfied with what you wrote, click "Publish Post" on the top-right corner and you are good to go.
As you can see, you can already see the post I created on the dHub feed together with the other post.
If you click the article, you will see the author on the left side. You can also see an option to like or dislike the post and the PDV value. If you want to share your post to your socials, you can click "Copy post url" on the bottom-left side of the cover photo. You can check my article here: Read Here
There you go! you just created your first post on Decentr. You can also like other posts on the dHub if you want.
Conclusion
Overall, the experience in posting a blog in Decentr is very easy and quick. There are still limitations on what you can place on the post like limited amount of pictures, no option for text formatting and no hyperlinks. If your writing is mostly composed of test then this will not bother you at all. Another good thing about this is that you can earn $DEC tokens when your post earns PDV. Decentr dHub is definitely worth the try.
